Cashier / Part Time 24 Hours (per week)
About The Position
The Cashier verifies the opening bank, accurately processes cash and charge sales, records over-rings and charge sales, makes correct change, and takes register readings as directed. The role also includes maintaining a clean workstation and service area, restocking supplies such as condiments and drinks, and performing food preparation and other related duties as assigned. The Cashier is expected to maintain a positive, courteous attitude toward customers and colleagues, promptly report discrepancies or potential problems, attend in-services, complete mandatory education, and comply with Lahey Clinic policies, behavioral expectations, customer service standards, and guiding principles. Staff working on the Lahey Campus must wear the proper Lahey Clinic ID badge and hand-washing badge. All staff are required to be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Requirements
- Flu vaccination is required as a condition of employment.
- Wear the proper Lahey Clinic ID badge and hand-washing badge while on the Lahey Campus.
Responsibilities
- Verify the opening bank and immediately report discrepancies to a supervisor.
- Program prices into the register as directed.
- Ring all cash and charge sales into the register.
- Record over-rings and charge sales, and make accurate change.
- Take register readings as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the workstation and help keep the service area clean.
- Restock the condiment station, drink coolers, and other supplies.
- Maintain a positive and courteous attitude toward customers, colleagues, and patients.
- Immediately inform a lead, supervisor, or manager of problems, discrepancies, or potential problems.
- Attend all in-services and successfully complete mandatory education.
- Perform food preparation and other related duties as assigned.
- Respond positively to surprise cash audits.
- Wear the required Lahey Clinic ID badge and hand-washing badge while on the Lahey Campus.
- Follow Lahey Clinic policies, departmental behavioral expectations, and customer service standards.
- Participate in departmental or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as needed or directed to meet departmental needs.
