About The Position

We are looking for a Paramedic for our Scottish Rite Emergency Department. This All-Star Paramedic will work (3) 12-hour shifts per week, 1PM-1AM. Functions as member of interdisciplinary team, including organizing and providing quality patient care services. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. For paramedics working inside the hospital, care is delivered under the supervision of a licensed professional.

Requirements

Must be in compliance with state continuing education requirements as outlined by Georgia Code 3, 31-11-58.1 and DHR regulations for paramedics
1 years of experience in patient care
High school diploma or equivalent
Georgia Paramedic license (EMT-P)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment or upon start of clinical shift if working in the Emergency Department (ED)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of employment
Eligibility to operate Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta vehicles as described in Policy 5-12 Drivers’ Policy for Children’s Owned Vehicles (transport paramedics)
Competencies as defined by department must be completed within six months of employment
Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment
Must complete Advanced Medic Pathway within 1 year of hire
Adheres to physical fitness requirements for rotor wing or fixed wing providers if participating in air transport (transport paramedics)
Responding to trauma patients
Proficient in vital signs and general assessments
IV placement
I-Stat/Novastat point of care
Demonstrates five rights of medication administration within scope of practice
Evaluates patient response to interventions and adjust plan of care per MD orders
