About The Position

Metro Paramedic Services, Inc. contracts with local municipalities to provide Emergency Medical Services, Rescue and/or Fire Services. The company attributes much of its success to the exceptional, compassionate customer service provided by its employees.

The Paramedic/Firefighter provides medical care and patient transportation at the Paramedic/Firefighter (EMT-P) level, within the employee’s scope of practice as stipulated by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and/or EMS Commission of Illinois. This is a full-time position on the company’s Crete contract. The base annual starting pay is $76,344, and the listed wage is $23.16 per hour.

Requirements

• Paramedic license.
• Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter certification.
• CPR certification.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS certification; Metro will provide training.
• PALS certification; Metro will provide training.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care to patients at the Paramedic/Firefighter (EMT-P) level within the applicable scope of practice.
