About The Position

This role involves providing basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients. The Paramedic ED will identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse. They will initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols, monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment as appropriate. Additionally, the role includes providing population-specific education to patients and families about their illness and therapeutic interventions, and inspecting, maintaining, and caring for equipment to ensure the safety of the transport team, patients, and the public.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
