About The Position

The Paralegal provides comprehensive legal support to attorneys across contracts, litigation, claims, and corporate matters. This role manages contract administration, supports all phases of litigation, conducts legal research, and handles administrative functions to ensure efficient operation of the legal department. This is a hybrid position based out of Columbus, OH. Employees are expected to work in the office every other Tuesday and Thursday. The remaining days will be remote.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies from ABA-approved program OR Paralegal Certificate from ABA-approved program required
  • Proven paralegal work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to draft professional correspondence
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and escalate matters appropriately
  • Meticulous attention to detail with thorough and accurate task execution
  • Adaptable and flexible with positive attitude toward change
  • Team player with ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Conducts work ethically, professionally, and with strict confidentiality
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support including but not limited to filing, scanning, faxing, typing, and processing invoices and requisitions
  • Administer contract processes within the OnSpring legal management system from initiation through completion
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external customers to ensure timely contract execution
  • Monitor legal department mailboxes for incoming litigation, claims, compliance issues, contracts, and legal inquiries
  • Conduct pre-claim and litigation investigations, legal research, and initial case assessments within legal management system
  • Perform litigation support including calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics
  • Monitor tradenames, trademarks, and licenses for state agency filings and renewals
  • Answer, screen, and direct telephone calls and electronic communications
  • Assist with monthly reports and Risk Assessment assignments for attorneys
  • Draft correspondence on behalf of attorneys with direction
  • Other duties as assigned
