About The Position

Goldberg, Miller & Rubin is a regional insurance defense law firm with offices in Philadelphia, Manhattan, and North Jersey that has been successfully litigating cases for its clients for close to four decades. We are an aggressive and talented team of trial attorneys who are dedicated to getting the best results for our clients. We are seeking a litigation paralegal with experience in either Pennsylvania or New York to join our growing team. As one of the region’s prominent civil law firms, we are recognized for our successful representation of individuals and companies facing liability relating to automotive and trucking negligence, medical malpractice, toxic torts, work related accidents, as well as various other forms of general liability. Since the firm’s inception, we have also worked with our clients in combating healthcare and insurance fraud throughout the region and have cemented ourselves as one of the region’s top firms in this arena.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a paralegal; experience in insurance defense preferred but not required.
  • Paralegal certificate or other related degree is a plus but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting attorneys in preparing civil litigation matters for trial.
  • Work with clients to receive discovery documents such as medical records, billing records, employment files, video footage from accident, etc.
  • Review discovery materials – analyze and summarize medical records.
  • Draft motions and discovery responses as well as other documents.
  • Draft and send out Subpoenas to providers and records retrieval companies.
  • Set up independent medical examinations (IMEs).
  • Prepare for trial.
