About The Position

Restaurant Brands International (RBI) is seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support the Legal Department in managing restaurant licensing and permitting activities across the Company's portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel, this role is responsible for coordinating license and permit renewals, supporting the resolution of regulatory violations, maintaining legal records, and providing administrative and operational support to the Legal team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent relevant work experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to learn new legal and permitting software systems

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or completion of a two-year college program preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm preferred.
  • Experience supporting licensing, permitting, or regulatory compliance matters is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the renewal of health, business, and operational licenses and permits for Company-owned restaurants.
  • Maintain accurate licensing records and operate the Company's permitting software to track renewals and compliance requirements.
  • Review, monitor, and coordinate legal support for restaurant violations, including routing information to internal stakeholders, tracking response deadlines, processing fine payments, coordinating appearances at agency hearings, and supporting timely resolution of matters.
  • Organize, maintain, and update Legal Department files and records in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Coordinate the ordering of checks for legal payment obligations and process invoices related to legal services, licenses, and permits.
  • Research and respond to internal inquiries related to licensing, permitting, and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
