We’re looking for a Paralegal who brings strong corporate and transactional expertise and a clear understanding of the regulatory environment within the life insurance industry. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Manager, Legal Operations and Services providing high‑level legal support across business units. This position assists with corporate governance, regulatory filings, legal research, litigation support, compliance monitoring, and responses to legal inquiries. You’ll partner closely with attorneys, Compliance, and business partners to help ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and corporate requirements. You will gain visibility and thrive in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders with precision.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of paralegal experience, with significant exposure to corporate and transactional work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence multiple internal and multi-level stakeholders.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and legal document management systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the life insurance, annuity, or broader financial services industry strongly preferred.
  • Associate's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, coordinate, and ensure timely filing of annual corporate, compliance, and regulatory reports, certifications, registrations, and related documentation required by state and federal agencies.
  • Maintain and update schedules, calendars, and records of required corporate filings, licenses, certifications, registrations, and reporting obligations.
  • Assist with monitoring legal and regulatory developments affecting the Company's products, operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of new or amended legal and compliance requirements by conducting research, tracking changes, and assisting with internal communications and documentation updates.
  • Provide assistance to business units regarding the interpretation and application of legal documents, policy provisions, contracts, and state regulatory requirements, under the direction of Legal Services leadership.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research and prepare summaries, reports, or recommendations as requested.
  • Assist with drafting legal correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other legal and compliance-related documents.
  • Assemble, organize, and maintain documentation for litigation matters, administrative proceedings, audits, examinations, and investigations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external counsel regarding legal matters and related information requests.
  • Maintain legal files, records, and databases in accordance with departmental procedures and record retention requirements.
  • Review subpoenas, legal inquiries, regulatory requests, and other requests for information received from external parties.
  • Assist with gathering documentation and preparing responses to subpoenas, legal inquiries, and regulatory requests under attorney supervision.
  • Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and other assignments as directed by Legal Services management.
  • Assist with departmental initiatives designed to improve legal operations, compliance processes, and record management practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
