Requirements

  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) or 1+ year(s) vocational training / associates degree.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Ability to work independently, manage large workload and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and process-driven
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel, talk, hear, and concentrate.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting legal research (e.g., due diligence, case and factual research, patent searches, responding to queries and investigations, preparing summary reports, etc.).
  • Drafting, reviewing and editing legal documents (e.g., contracts, agreements, business communications, etc.).
  • Project management for legal cases, litigation, transactions, etc.
  • Preparing legal forms/templates and legal pleadings (arbitration, litigation, etc.).
  • Developing and maintaining files, databases and systems to collect, store and retrieve data on litigation, etc.
  • Structuring, drafting, negotiating and/or approving legal contracts, letters of agreement, policies and other documents.
  • Reviews, responds and performs basic editing of legal documents (e.g., formatting, grammar/spell checking of content, etc.).
  • Prepares written correspondence with outside counsel and other third parties, including responses to complaints.
  • Obtains signatures on legal documents, notarizing documents, etc.
  • Ensure all case files are accurately documented and updated within the case management system.
  • Plans and schedules logistics for meetings and travel, including board of director and shareholder meetings.
