About The Position

Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP is seeking an experienced Paralegal with 7+ years of experience to join our team in the White Plains, New York office. This role will provide advanced litigation and case management support across the firm, ensuring the efficient handling of matters from inception through trial. This position requires a minimum of three (3) days per week in the White Plains office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in liability and defense litigation, with the ability to manage complex, high-volume caseloads. This individual should demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism in client interactions, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multiple offices. While this role will primarily support attorneys in our White Plains office, the paralegal will also assist on matters across the firm’s broader footprint.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in litigation support; defense litigation experience preferred
  • Ability to work in-office a minimum of three (3) days per week in the White Plains office
  • Paralegal certificate required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with case management and document management systems
  • Knowledge of New York State and Federal Court rules and e-filing procedures
  • Legal research proficiency (LexisNexis, Westlaw) preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and proactively meet deadlines
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment with flexibility as needed

Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, subpoenas, and settlement documents
  • Perform legal and factual research using platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
  • Process authorizations and obtain, review, and analyze medical records; prepare summaries and chronologies
  • Communicate with courts, clients, experts, opposing counsel, and co-counsel, ensuring attorneys are updated on case progress and deadlines
  • Schedule and coordinate Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and other expert appointments
  • Manage and track case activity, maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files to support attorney reporting and strategy
  • Assist in preparing matters for mediation, arbitration, and trial, including trial binders and exhibit preparation
  • Support cases from inception through trial, ensuring organization and adherence to deadlines
  • Maintain and organize case files and internal resources, including law library materials as needed
  • Accurately record and maintain billable time in accordance with firm requirements
