About The Position

Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, is seeking an experienced paralegal to join their dynamic team in Austin. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives on challenging, high-level work and values collaboration within a well-established—and growing—organization. The firm's team handles a diverse range of matters, including construction defect, premises liability, product liability, and other complex general liability cases. This is an in-office position that offers flexibility where appropriate. The role offers the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility, contribute to sophisticated litigation matters, and grow alongside an experienced and supportive legal team. Segal McCambridge was founded in 1986 and has grown from a four-attorney practice into a national litigation firm with offices across the country, representing a wide range of clients including Fortune 500 companies, corporations, and individuals in complex litigation matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a paralegal in civil defense litigation
  • Experience handling Texas matters in both state and federal courts
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and legal terminology
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail in drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windows applications, e-filing systems, and online research tools
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including interaction with senior-level professionals
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Sound judgment in managing a diverse workload
  • Experience with billing and time entry

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of your files
  • Work closely with attorneys through all phases of litigation—from initial pleadings through trial preparation
