Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, the Paralegal supports the Legal Services department in implementing efficient processes. The role is responsible for coordinating Board and committee activities, maintaining corporate records, and managing regulatory filings across Canada and the United States. The incumbent also participates in corporate transactions and supports business units with legal and administrative requests, while contributing to the standardization of corporate documents and legal precedents.

Requirements

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Paralegal Technology or equivalent required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English (spoken and written) is required, as a significant portion of work is conducted in English due to Savaria’s international operations.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar paralegal or corporate legal support role is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prepare meetings for the Board of Directors and various committees, including documentation and follow-ups.
  • Maintain corporate books and registers for all entities within the group, including managing the corporate database.
  • Prepare and file annual reports and returns across Canadian jurisdictions, other provinces, and U.S. states.
  • Support corporate reorganizations, financing activities, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Assist business units with completing forms and documentation for multiple jurisdictions and operational needs.
  • Contribute to the development and standardization of corporate documents and legal precedents.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
