About The Position

Community Care College is seeking a substitute Paralegal Studies Instructor to teach material in accordance with the assigned schedule, ensuring student satisfaction. The instructor will collaborate with other faculty, present engaging lectures, and maintain an inviting classroom environment. This role involves advising students, providing feedback, and keeping records of grades and attendance. The instructor must be familiar with college accrediting bodies and the college's mission and CARES philosophy.

Requirements

Associate degree required
A minimum of three years of professional paralegal experience is also required
Experience in presenting material to all levels of students
Possess strong interpersonal skills, ability to build cooperative relationships by being perceptive of others’ reactions, selling or influencing others, convincing others to change their minds or actions and ability to utilize different methods and mediums to deliver course material
Critical thinking, problem solving, and judgment skills
Strong work ethic, timely and accurately organize, prioritize and complete all job responsibilities
Proven record of multi-tasking and ability to handle a high pressure environment with timeline pressures

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred
Teaching experience in post-secondary education at an accredited institution is preferred

Responsibilities

Teach material in accordance with assigned schedule to ensure student satisfaction
Collaborate with other faculty to integrate information throughout teaching and learning process
Present enthusiastic, well prepared, organized lectures and interactive classroom activities consistent with course syllabus
Be familiar with college accrediting bodies and compliance as it pertains to the program
Implement and model the college mission, and CARES philosophy, incorporating professional and ethical standards
Keep faculty and school administration informed with the progress of the program
Create and maintain an inviting classroom environment
Assists students in achieving completion of objectives
Provides regular, accurate and timely feedback to students relative to their performance
Exercises normal classroom supervision to effect a positive learning environment
Advises students on matters related to academics, behavior, attendance and grades
Assists in student concern resolution, provide counsel/tutoring as needed
Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process, including but not limited to, class discussions, demonstrations, outside assignments, research, enrichment activities
Maintains and reports student grades and attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures
Maintains expertise in subject area in order to provide students with current trends and to recommend improvements in curriculum design
