About The Position

Temporary paraeducator/teacher assistant position supporting students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room, or center-based settings. The position is temporary through approximately December 23, 2026, for 6.5 hours per day, with a duty day of 7:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. The role may be filled immediately and requires working physically in the school building. Pay is $20.85 per hour. The start date is ASAP.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Good communication, interpersonal, and recordkeeping skills.
Ability and desire to work with technology and computers.
Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff, supervise students, and take direction.
Ability to maintain regular attendance and complete an assigned workday.
Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
Ability to perform the position’s physical responsibilities, including toileting, feeding, and self-care procedures; handling materials and work devices; maintaining student data; and working with students who may display aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate verbal or physical behavior.
Must work physically in the building.

Responsibilities

Assist with instruction for students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room, or center-based settings.
Manage student behavior, including redirecting or calming students and, when necessary, removing a disruptive student from the classroom.
Monitor and record student progress in areas such as academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, and social skills.
Assist with students’ physical needs, including toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, and transporting students in wheelchairs.
Implement behavioral management programs and maintain student data.
Supervise students and complete assigned workday responsibilities.
