About The Position

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in classroom settings and assists individuals or small groups to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management in special education and general education classrooms, lunchrooms, and play fields. The position is based at Las Palmas Elementary and is scheduled for 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 182 work days per year.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, unless substituted by at least 48 college credit units.
• Compliance with District skill and competency requirements.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.
• Required application documents: NCLB compliance documentation (48 semester college units or passing Paraeducator Proficiency Exam), proof of high school graduation or equivalent, resume providing clear evidence of required experience, and CPR/First Aid certificate.
