Paraeducator-Independence Facilitator - 7 hrs/day (MLK)
About The Position
Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in classroom settings and assists individual students or small groups to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management in special education and general education classrooms, lunchrooms, and play-field environments. The position is based at Martin Luther King Jr. JHS and works 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 182 work days per year. Salary is $21.24–$28.08 per hour in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience. The application deadline is 10/27/2026.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics, unless at least 48 college credit units are completed as a substitute.
- Compliance with District skill and competency requirements.
- May require a valid driver’s license.
- May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.
- Submit proof of high school graduation, evidence of NCLB compliance through 48 semester college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam, a resume showing required experience, and a CPR/First Aid certificate.
