Paraeducator III (TK SDC)- 6 hrs/day (Castori)
About The Position
Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. This position is for employees trained to integrate significant para-professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support. The position is at Castori Elementary, working 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 182 work days per year. Salary is $22.11–$29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience. Medical, dental, vision, and employee life insurance are available to employees working 4 or more hours per day. The district contributes the full premium for employees working 6 or more hours daily and 50% for those working 4–5.99 hours daily.
Requirements
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Typically requires 48 degree-eligible college semester units, or compliance with the stated NCLB requirement of 48 college semester units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.
- Typically requires one year of experience working in a classroom environment containing students with special needs.
- Requires a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
- A valid driver's license may be required.
- Provide a resume with clear evidence of required experience.
- Provide proof of high school graduation, such as a diploma, transcripts, or equivalent (e.g., GED).
