About The Position

Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. The position is for paraeducators trained to integrate significant para-professional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support. The assignment is at Castori Elementary, supporting a TK SDC program, for 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, over 182 work days per year.

Requirements

• Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically requires 48 degree-eligible college units and one year of experience working in a classroom environment containing students with special needs.
• Additional college coursework may substitute for some experience.
• Additional experience in an instructional support or health care environment may substitute for some post-secondary education.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Requires a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
• Provide CPR/First Aid certification, NCLB compliance documentation (48 semester college units or passage of the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam), proof of high school graduation or equivalent, and a resume showing required experience.
