Paraeducator III - 6 hrs/day (Westside)
About The Position
Performs specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students. The position is for paraeducators trained to integrate significant paraprofessional health care services or behavior interventions with instructional support. The position is located at Westside and works 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 182 work days per year. Salary is $22.11–$29.22 per hour in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience. Medical, dental, vision, and employee life insurance are available to employees working 4 or more hours per day. The district contributes the full benefit cost for employees working 6 or more hours per day and 50% for those working 4–5.99 hours per day.
Requirements
- Typically, a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Typically, 48 degree-eligible college credit units.
- Typically, one year of experience working in a classroom environment containing students with special needs.
- Additional college coursework may substitute for some experience.
- Additional experience in an instructional support or health care environment may substitute for some post-secondary education.
- May require a valid driver’s license.
- Requires a valid First-Aid card and CPR certificate.
- Submit CPR/First Aid certification, NCLB compliance documentation (48 semester college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam), proof of high school graduation or equivalent, and a resume providing clear evidence of required experience.
