About The Position

Provides instructional, group and individual behavior, and clerical support to teachers in special education classroom settings, assisting individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management in special education and general education classrooms and play field environs. The position is based at Madison and works 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 182 work days per year. The employee is full-time. The hourly salary range is $20.38 to $26.98 in 9 annual steps, with placement based on relevant experience. Medical, dental, vision, and employee life insurance are available to employees who work at least 4 hours per day. The district contributes the full cost for employees working 6 or more hours per day and 50% for employees working 4 to 5.99 hours per day.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the assessment.
Provide proof of high school graduation, such as a diploma, high school transcripts, or equivalent (e.g., GED).
Meet District skill/competency requirements.
Provide a resume with clear evidence of required experience.
May require a valid driver’s license.
May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.
