About The Position

Provides instructional, group and individual behavior, and clerical support to teachers in special education classroom settings, assisting individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management in special education and general education classrooms and play field environments. The position is based at Woodridge and is scheduled for 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, for 182 work days per year.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the assessment.
• Compliance with District skill and competency requirements.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.
• A valid First Aid/CPR card may be required.
• Required application documents: proof of high school graduation or equivalent, NCLB compliance documentation (48 semester college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam), and a resume providing clear evidence of required experience.
