This position involves working with and supervising students who have special needs, specifically disabled students with significant physical disabilities in a life skills classroom setting and during additional school activities. The paraeducator will collaborate with the special education teacher, other paraeducators, and specialists. Duties include carrying out educational instruction, diapering, feeding or tube feeding, lifting and positioning students. The role may require administering medication and/or catheterizing students with training. The paraeducator will also be involved in documentation to monitor student progress and perform all duties within the scope of Kennewick School District policies and procedures. Other job-related duties will be performed as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
