About The Position

The Panel Saw Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of a single-blade saw. This role involves reading production scheduling sheets to identify required material, ensuring material meets quality specifications, performing setups, feeding material, and periodically checking equipment to ensure specifications are met. The operator will also offload and stack material according to procedures, and may cover, label, and band finished products. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area, ensuring equipment is safe to operate, and completing pre-shift equipment inspection checklists. Additionally, the operator will maintain production records, check materials and products for compliance with standards, and perform duties consistent with safety and quality procedures. This role also includes performing LOTO, preventive maintenance, and participating in safety and continuous improvement programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 months of experience using saws or similar equipment
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma GED is preferred but not required.
  • some experience in manufacturing and assembling is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures material meets quality specifications grade, size, moisture content, etc.
  • Performs setups according to specifications.
  • Feeds material according to specifications.
  • Periodically checks equipment to ensure specifications are being met.
  • Offloads and stacks material in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components finished product.
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift-startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Performs LOTO as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance as specified.
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
