About The Position

The Panel Saw Operator is responsible for precisely and efficiently operating a panel saw to cut door core components to specified dimensions. The role involves setting up, adjusting, and operating the saw to ensure optimal performance and safety. The operator helps ensure components are accurately cut and meet quality standards, supporting the efficiency and productivity of the finishing end of the plant.

The position is based in a manufacturing facility with exposure to machinery and equipment. It requires standing, walking, and lifting throughout the shift. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, on a non-rotating second shift. The role reports to the Shift Supervisor and collaborates with the Forklift Operator.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent safety awareness for self and others.
• Good mechanical skills.
• Proficiency in operating PLC screens.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction of multiple numbers and fractions.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch.
• Ability to work without constant supervision.
• Ability to lift and move boards weighing 50–75 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders or stairs, bend, push, pull, and reach for the duration of an 8-hour shift.

• Preferred background in agricultural or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Make minor machine adjustments to maintain product tolerance.
• Stack boards and pieces neatly by size onto a lift table or cart as they come off the saw; tag units and use a banding tool to affix strapping.
• Keep the Shift Supervisor informed of safety-related issues or concerns.
• Maintain a clean work area, free from clutter and debris.
• Complete end-of-shift paperwork neatly and legibly.
