About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is looking for a seasonal Palletizer Operator to operate a console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack containers of finished products on pallets. This is a seasonal position supporting the fresh pack season, typically from August to November, at their Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. The company processes high-quality, fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit, serving various customers for over 50 years.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing/industrial facility, preferably in the food industry.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Able to operate all palletizer lines, regardless of the can size.
  • Requires ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to November.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority through conversations, communications and actions.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and notifies maintenance mechanic if there are issues or concerns.
  • Visually observes cans on the conveyers to ensure there are no dents or defects.
  • Pushes buttons on machine to ensure cans are cycled onto the pallets; may use a tool to move cans into position if needed.
  • Confirms can codes are correct for product being run; communicates with the Tagging Clerk.
