About The Position

The Palletizer Operator will operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods. This role involves observing and monitoring machine operations to detect malfunctions and determine necessary adjustments. The operator will help identify, troubleshoot, and correct product defects caused by the machine, and perform routine adjustments during the machine run while maintaining production throughout. Responsibilities include setting up and operating the machine to meet published specifications, ensuring all orders are completed to specifications including special instructions, and making basic repairs to the machine. The role also involves setting up and running the Unitizer to meet production goals, maintaining housekeeping standards, and complying with all safety rules and quality policies. The operator will support the training of other assistant operators and conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area is essential. The position requires keeping appropriate records and reports, reading and understanding load tag information, being knowledgeable of the complete Unitizer process, and working from checklists for operator PM responsibilities. Ensuring all quality checks are performed correctly and accurately is also a key part of the role, along with performing other duties as assigned by managers, supervisors, or shift leaders.

Requirements

  • 2 years manufacturing experience highly preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Consent to a background check and pre-employment physical / drug screen
  • Flexible to work overtime as needed
  • Must have a positive attitude with a willingness to learn new things, receive and follow instructions

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods.
  • Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and correct product defects caused by the machine.
  • Perform routine adjustments during the machine run and maintain production throughout the run.
  • Set up and operate machine meeting established published specifications.
  • Ensure all orders are completed to specifications including “special instructions” if applicable.
  • Identify and make basic repairs to the machine.
  • Set up and run the Unitizer, meeting production goals.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Comply with all IPs Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols at all times.
  • Support Training of other assistant operators and others as needed.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports (complete forms, logs, and records accurately – as required).
  • Read and understand load tag information.
  • Be knowledgeable of the complete Unitizer process to produce a top quality product.
  • Ability to work from checklists for operator PM responsibilities.
  • Ensure all quality checks are performed correctly and accurately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by managers and or supervisors/shift leader.
