About The Position

The Palletizer Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of palletizing equipment, maintaining product quality, and contributing to overall plant productivity. This role involves operating various machinery, documenting processes, and collaborating with team members to meet production targets. The position requires adherence to safety and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP programs. The operator will also be involved in sanitation, training new team members, and problem-solving within their business unit.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to stand for hours with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements required.
  • Follow hygiene and safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear (gloves, hairnets, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and complete all required food safety and product quality checks.
  • Communicate and interact with others in a manner consistent with the company’s management philosophy.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, committees, and task forces.
  • Become proficient in multiple skill areas and annually refresh operational skill sets.
  • Support the hiring process by mentoring and on-boarding new team members.
  • Lead and encourage problem-solving within the Business Unit and Functional Team.
  • Communicate and follow-up on daily information.
  • Be willing to learn and train a variety of skills.
  • Complete all required documentation to support plant inventory control, quality assurance, line reliability, damage reduction, and cost tracking systems.
  • Operate hardeners under normal and product evacuation conditions.
  • Load and operate multiple bundlers (wrappers), making minor adjustments to equipment settings.
  • Ensure proper materials and quantities are staged for use.
  • Understand and apply appropriate pallet patterns by product.
  • Palletize using manual, semi-automatic, and automatic palletizing stations.
  • Load and operate stretch wrapping equipment.
  • Ensure product is properly palletized and ready for storage and distribution.
  • Identify product SKUs for palletizing station assignments.
  • Complete all required IMREX and Panel View transactions and reports.
  • Understand shuttle car and ASRS operations and correct errors as needed.
  • Support ASRS inventory process as needed.
  • Ensure palletized product is ready for storage.
  • Understand basic Currie operations and program daily SKUs.
  • Know and understand the correct procedure for releasing lanes.
  • Identify all aspects of Currie equipment performance and communicate with other operators and maintenance.
  • Ensure the quality of all products prior to and immediately following the Currie.
  • Manage the reject line to ensure product does not spoil.
  • Communicate pick-ups and deliveries with carriers/customers.
  • Communicate with warehouses and logistics for order changes and updates.
  • Enter and release orders in the CC Software system.
  • Maintain inventory levels for west-coast warehouses.
  • Handle Lab 48-hour hold and reject products.
  • Ship and confirm orders in the IMREX system daily.
  • Maintain pallet program and pallet reconciliation by carrier.
  • Understand the safest and most effective cleaning methods used in the hardening, bundling, and palletizing areas.
  • Conduct basic sanitation preventive maintenance as required.
  • Follow the proper cleaning procedure for each piece of equipment used.
  • Maintain work area in an “inspection ready” condition at all times.
  • Follow the proper cleaning procedure for non-product contact surfaces and equipment.
  • Represent The Froneri Way of working through the behaviors and characteristics in our Operating Model and Core Values.
  • Achieve hygiene, GMP, and safety audit improvements.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Effectively interact with the team and take direction from Machine Operator and Management.
  • Implement and maintain quality and improvement initiatives.
  • De-kit the line.
