About The Position
The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a seasonal Palletizer Operator to operate a console that controls automatic palletizing equipment to sort, transfer, and stack containers of finished products on pallets. This role is located at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA, and supports the fresh pack season, typically from August to November. The company is an industry leader in processing high-quality tomatoes and fruit, with a history spanning over 50 years and operating three production facilities.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing/industrial facility, preferably in the food industry.
- Able to read and write English.
- Able to operate all palletizer lines, regardless of the can size.
- Requires ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended schedule, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically August to November.
Responsibilities
- Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority through conversations, communications, and actions.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and notifies maintenance mechanic if there are issues or concerns.
- Visually observes cans on the conveyers to ensure there are no dents or defects.
- Pushes buttons on machine to ensure cans are cycled onto the pallets; may use a tool to move cans into position if needed.
- Confirms can codes are correct for product being run; communicates with the Tagging Clerk.
