About The Position

As a Pallet Sorter, you will manually inspect and sort pallets according to specified type and condition criteria. You will help ensure pallets meet PLA standards and production goals by identifying damaged or incorrect pallets while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency. The role involves repetitive physical tasks in a team-oriented warehouse environment and requires consistent, reliable attendance. The position pays $17.00 per hour. Hourly pay increases by $0.50 at 90 days, at one year, and annually thereafter for a total of five years, reaching the maximum rate after five years in the role. The employee primarily works in a warehouse, where conditions may include dust, fluctuating hot and cold temperatures, and moderate to high noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment are required.

Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
Vision sufficient to inspect pallets and observe surroundings, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to wear steel-toed boots and other required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Safely remove lodged or adjacent debris from incoming pallets.
Manually sort pallets by type, such as color or manufacturer, and by condition, including damaged or missing boards, raised or exposed nails, and missing blocks.
Thoroughly inspect pallets during sorting to ensure they meet quality criteria.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.
Maintain the established hourly rate while meeting productivity, efficiency, and safety expectations.
Follow safety guidelines and procedures for handling related equipment and materials.
Comply with PLA policies and procedures and federal and state safety rules.
Assist with other duties as assigned to support and improve team operations.
Adjust to new reporting relationships, work assignments, or schedules as needed to meet company and business requirements.
Cooperate and communicate clearly with team members and management.
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
