About The Position

Horizon House, a non-profit organization, has been widely recognized for its services as a provider of community-based behavioral health, intellectual disabled and homeless services in Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware. Each year, Horizon House provides a continuum of services at over 100 sites to over 4,5000 adults with psychiatric or developmental disabilities, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or homelessness. A pioneer in the field of community-based rehabilitation, Horizon House is widely recognized for its innovative approach to the delivery of services in a community setting. Currently, we are seeking full time Painter to work in our Real Estate Division. We are looking for a Painter who can assist us with keeping our properties looking beautiful inside and out.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of 5 years experience in the building maintenance field with an emphasis in facilities or industrial painting environment; or any combination of education, experience or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
  • Ability to read and interpret work order requests; must own or have daily access to an extensive tool crib and related painting equipment and supplies.
  • Familiar with interpreting floor layouts, sketches, and manufacturers' specifications.
  • Must own or have access to a van, truck, or utility vehicle daily.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Requires lifting, carrying, climbing, loading, bending, testing, kneeling and tightening associated with routine facility maintenance and use of corresponding tools regularly, for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift equipment, fixtures and/or materials up to 80 lbs.
  • Routinely exposed to inclement weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to harsh chemicals or odors.
  • Must be available for scheduled emergency on-call service and will be required to carry a cell phone during regularly scheduled working hours and scheduled emergency on-call service.
  • Tolerance of multi-story heights.
  • Scope: Required sitting for long periods of time.
  • Light lifting and/or carrying, not to exceed 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, applying protective and decorative coats of paints, and related products to a variety of interior and exterior surfaces on a scheduled and preventive or continuous basis.
  • Perform general maintenance support and assistance on repairs and major maintenance projects as related to the numerous properties owned, operated or controlled by Horizon House as needed.
