About The Position

AutoNation is hiring a Paint Technician to paint vehicle body parts to quality standards. The role involves preparing work surfaces, matching and applying paint, and inspecting the finished work for quality. The technician follows factory and dealership procedures, including for warranty work, and operates Collision Center equipment safely. The position also requires following manufacturer specifications for paint and chemical mixing and applicable regulations affecting Collision Center operations. Requirements

• At least two years of automotive experience.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with an acceptable, safe driving record.
• Ability to operate an automobile.
• Passion for cars and customer service.

Nice To Haves

• ICAR certification, or interest in becoming certified.
• OEM certification, or interest in becoming certified.

Responsibilities

• Assess damaged areas and prepare them for painting, including removing rust and grease and masking parts that should not be painted or coated.
• Prepare color tints to match or blend paint colors.
• Paint vehicles efficiently and to a high standard, using a sprayer or brush as appropriate.
• Follow factory and dealership procedures when performing warranty work.
• Operate Collision Center equipment safely and productively, following AutoNation safety standards and using required personal protective equipment.
• Inspect craftsmanship and identify runs, sags, or unpainted areas.
• Mix paints and chemicals according to manufacturer directions and specifications.
• Follow federal, state, and local regulations affecting Collision Center operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA guidelines.
• Develop superior product knowledge to provide high-quality repairs.
