About The Position

The Painter at Donaldson’s Baldwin, Wisconsin location is responsible for product preparation, chemical maintenance, and painting. This is an onsite second-shift role scheduled Monday through Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 1:15 a.m. The position is overtime eligible under state and federal regulations and eligible for a gainsharing plan based on achievement of specific goals. The role requires following safety, DOT, HAZMAT, environmental, and quality procedures, using designated personal protective equipment, and maintaining regular, predictable attendance. Other duties may be assigned to support the company’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks throughout the day in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to interact constructively and effectively with plant personnel, customers, and carriers.
• Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal.
• Ability to react productively to change, handle other tasks as assigned, and problem solve.
• Maintain a pattern of regular and predictable attendance.
• Respirator certification.
• Forklift certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous paint experience.
• Previous experience operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Test and maintain chemicals in dip tanks.
• Maintain environmental and quality compliance paperwork.
• Prepare product for paint application and welding.
• Paint product according to prints and product specifications.
• Control correct tagging and parts.
• Maintain equipment and clean paint booths according to prescribed methods and schedules.
• Ensure correct MIL thickness.
• Communicate internally and externally.
• Comply with safety, DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Use all designated personal protective equipment as required.
• Perform material handling and forklift driving duties as needed.
