Requirements

• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read and write.
• Able to work independently with moderate supervision.
• Must pass a physical exam required for respirator use.
• Must be able to enter confined spaces as required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or technical school training
• One to three years of painting experience
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Proficiently prepare, apply, and verify customer coating and surface preparation requirements.
• Ensure substrates are clean and free of contaminants like dirt or oil.
• Mix and apply coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
• Avoid defects such as runs, sags, thin spots, and ensure proper dry/cure times.
• Adjust paint and process parameters based on humidity, temperature, or anomalies.
• Repair or blend coating defects to a high standard of finish.
• Ensure uniform coating thickness using wet mil or dry film gauges.
• Perform daily and weekly cleaning and preventive maintenance on painting/mixing equipment.
• Maintain effectiveness and code compliance of grounding and air filtration systems.
• Complete all required paperwork, including labor reporting and quality documentation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Perform self-inspections and other quality control tasks at the workstation.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Assist in the training and development of personnel.
• Perform work at lower classification levels when assigned.
• Carry out other duties as directed by supervision.
