About The Position

This is a highest-level painter position, responsible for setting up and running any order, troubleshooting problems, and repairing paint-related equipment. The role also involves training Painter 1 and Painter 2, and effectively training, coordinating, and communicating with all departments.

Requirements

Working knowledge of paint booth
Ability to change over color modules for paint booths
Troubleshooting skills
Able to read and understand bill of material
Complete understanding of coating process and the technology with it
Good communication skills and must be able to answer all technical questions about the process
Excellent organization skills
Strong Leadership ability
Ability to effectively train, coordinate and communicate with all departments
Internal training per standard operating procedures and training sheet (Standard Work Instructions)
Forklift license
1-3 years experience as entry level painter

Responsibilities

Cross-trained in 100% of every part of the paint process
Perform initial paint tech duties
Maintain FPY >90%
Complete full training of all new painters
Perform touch-up duties
Utilize fresh air hoods at all times when painting in a booth or inside of paint kitchen areas
Demonstrate and maintain standard work guidelines while meeting established cycle times
Understand and perform the paint flush process
Participate in preventative maintenance activities
Participate in daily housekeeping and 6s projects to maintain an orderly work area
Ensure proper lighting and airflow parameters are met prior to painting product
Understand E-Stat application and when not to use
Responsible for training all other painters and communicating with them daily
Full understanding of paint kitchens and setup
Paint in any booth and setup for any color as needed
Rebuild and/or repair painting equipment on an entry-level basis
Perform mill checks as needed to ensure proper application is met
Other duties as assigned
