About The Position

In-N-Out Burger is hiring a full-time Painter based at its Baldwin Park, California facility. The Painter prepares and paints restaurant locations and other company facilities throughout Southern California. The role involves indoor and outdoor painting, surface preparation, equipment operation and maintenance, completing paperwork and work orders, and following health and safety precautions.

This is a temporary, hourly, non-exempt position that may lead to permanent employment within 90 days. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week, either Tuesday–Friday or Monday–Thursday, on the graveyard shift from 12:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Weekends may be needed, and occasional overtime may be required. The role includes driving throughout Southern California and travel out of town and out of state, including overnight hotel stays for up to a week or more. A company van and painting tools are provided. The expected pay range is $26.50–$30.50 per hour.

Temporary Associates may be eligible for a 401(k)/Profit Sharing Plan and sick time, subject to eligibility criteria for 401(k) participation. Permanent Associates receive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a Profit Sharing Plan, and a 401(k) retirement plan.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience as a Painter.
• Knowledge of painting materials and how to select, mix, and apply them.
• Ability to use appropriate tools, including paint brushes and caulking guns.
• Ability to travel and stay out of town for up to a week or more; travel may occur once a month or every other month depending on the project.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Valid California driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Great attention to detail.
• Ability to represent the company in a positive and professional manner.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of a painting apprenticeship.
• Familiarity with OSHA general safety practices for the painting industry.
• In-N-Out Burger associate or store experience; associates must be in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Paint the interiors and exteriors of In-N-Out Burger restaurants and other company facilities.
• Use brushes, rollers, airless and HVLP equipment, and a variety of paint products.
• Prepare job sites, including setting up scaffolding or using ladders and boom lifts, and covering fixtures.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, removing old paint, patching, and cleaning.
• Estimate supplies and complete other pre-painting preparation.
• Operate, maintain, and clean painting equipment.
• Complete necessary paperwork, work orders, and projects in a timely manner.
• Follow health and safety precautions.
