About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of painting and finishing tasks in the maintenance department. This includes preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and ensuring a high-quality finish on various structures and equipment within the district.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in painting and finishing.
Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
Ability to prepare surfaces for painting.
Ability to apply paint using various methods (brush, roller, sprayer).
Knowledge of safety procedures related to painting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.

Nice To Haves

Vocational training in painting or a related field.
Experience with specialized coatings or finishes.
Familiarity with building maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming.
Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, windows, furniture, and other surfaces.
Mix paints and other materials to achieve desired colors and consistency.
Operate and maintain painting equipment, including sprayers, brushes, and rollers.
Perform minor repairs to surfaces before painting.
Ensure proper ventilation and safety precautions are followed during painting operations.
Maintain an inventory of paint and supplies.
Clean and maintain work areas and equipment.
Follow established safety rules and regulations.
