About The Position

Wheeler Machinery is seeking a skilled and safety-minded Body Repair & Paint Technician to join our team full time in Salt Lake City, UT. In this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in restoring and maintaining the appearance and integrity of Cat and non-Cat equipment that our customers depend on every day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A strong interest in mechanical systems for Light and heavy machinery.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to build technical skills.
  • Proficient in using hand tools.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians.
  • Places Safety as a top priority.

Nice To Haves

  • trade school or technical education in heavy or light equipment repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying the different types of surfaces.
  • utilizing proper tools Plastic and metal surfaces.
  • Steam clean, sandblast and prep
  • Willingness to Read and interpret blueprints located in SIS Web
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and services performed on equipment to correctly write service reports.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
  • Perform necessary repairs on all types of components.
  • Attend all hands-on training and attend all assigned technical classes to further develop your skills & knowledge.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Team Leader or Supervisor to support the team and gain experience to further develop your skills.
