Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with supervisor to determine painting requirements and making decisions for projects.
  • Completing the make-ready process of vacant apartments.
  • Covering surfaces with protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
  • Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing, filling holes and cracks, and sanding.
  • Applying primer and other sealers to ensure paint adhesion.
  • Mixing and matching paint, stain, and other finishes.
  • Applying paint, stain, and other finishes using various tools.
  • Maintaining an inventory of painting supplies.
  • Removing old finishes using scrapers or chemical compounds.
  • Estimating time and material costs for painting projects.
  • Cleaning machines, equipment, and work areas.
  • Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments.
  • Removing and reinstalling fixtures as necessary.
  • Alerting the Maintenance Director of any unusual occurrences or damage.
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous manner with residents, vendors, contractors, and employees.
  • Assuring safety standards comply with all guidelines.
  • Ensuring compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Following established company policies and Employee Handbook guidelines.
  • Undertaking special projects and other responsibilities as determined.
