Requirements

  • 3-5 years of industrial painting experience
  • Knowledge of epoxy, polyurethane, or solvent-based coatings
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hands for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 25lbs with or without assistance
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and follow basic drawings or work instructions with support
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow directions
  • Reliable attendance and a strong focus on safety

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, heavy equipment, or transit vehicles preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting (cleaning, sanding, masking, degreasing, blasting if required)
  • Mix and apply primers and topcoats per manufacturer specifications
  • Operate spray equipment (HVLP, conventional, airless systems)
  • Ensure proper film thickness and coverage
  • Follow paint booth procedures and flash/cure times
  • Inspect painted surfaces for defects (runs, sags, orange peel, fisheyes, dry spray, etc.)
  • Perform touch-ups and rework as required
  • Moderate troubleshooting of defects and working on complex assemblies
  • Maintain paint equipment and perform routine cleaning
  • May support with training others
  • Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and paint specifications
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for traceability
  • Comply with all safety requirements including PPE and hazardous material handling
  • Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives in paint area
