About The Position

Austin Industrial is hiring a Painter Blaster to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting and to paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other work areas using spray guns, brushes, and rollers. The role requires performing surface preparation and coating work according to work orders, verbal instructions, and specifications. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin Industrial cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of journeyman-level experience.
• Must be able to work at heights without fear.
• Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and receive instructions verbally.
• Prepare surfaces by removing dirt, oil, grease, and old paint; smoothing cracks; and filling holes.
• Fill cavities and dents with putty to create smooth surfaces as needed.
• Select and mix coating liquids to produce the desired color according to specifications.
• Apply paint using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform work above ground level as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
