About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Paint Technician – Level 3 or Level 4 to join their team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The role involves performing a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the fabrication and development of mechanical engineering designs, painting/coating, and modifications of assemblies and related hardware. The technician must demonstrate good knowledge of painting/coating processes, including experience with painting and coating of flight hardware, with little supervision. The position requires willingness to work any shift and is contingent upon obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 3) or 6 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 4).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Proficient in use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Experience in handling chemicals such as Isopropyl Alcohol and Acetone.
  • Adept at reading drawings, process specification, and work order instructions.
  • Able to perform work daily in an approved clean room environment, to include wearing clean room garments.
  • Must be able to work any shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • AA degree or other two-year technical degree.
  • Familiar with Northrop Grumman Corporation processes.
  • 7+ years of experience in the use of prepreg, bagging, autoclaves, ovens and release materials.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office to supplement work order and other data requirements.
