Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer Level 3 or 4 to augment our team in Linthicum, MD. DevOps Engineers must have an excellent understanding of common system architecture, provisioning, and administration, but also have experience with the traditional developer toolset and practices such as using source control, giving and receiving code reviews, writing unit tests, and familiarity with agile principles. Successful candidates will support daily tasks by managing the CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, monitoring system health, handling infrastructure as code. This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. This position can be filled at either a Level 3 (Principal) or Level 4 (Sr Principal).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD with 1+ years of experience; An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree (for Level 3)
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD with 4+ years of experience; An additional 4 years of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree (for Level 4)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph
- US Citizenship required
- Strong experience building and running containers
- Strong experience with Linux Administration
- Strong experience with shell scripting
- Experience with git
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (gitlab or Jenkins experience is preferred)
- Experience working with Kubernetes
- Experience with messaging software (kafka, artemis, etc.)
- Established understanding of the java programming language
- Good understanding of Git
- Good understanding of Kubernetes/Helm
Nice To Haves
- Active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope poly
- Experience with Ansible
- Experience with Java, Python
- Experience with system monitoring (E.g. Prometheus or similar)
- Familiarity with computer networking
- Familiarity with access control techniques (RBAC, ABAC, etc.) and software (keycloak)
