About The Position

The Paint Technician applies paint to fabricated items in a fabrication shop. The role involves preparing metal surfaces so paint adheres properly, applying paint to customer specifications while preventing runs or pooling, and cleaning and maintaining paint equipment. The technician must be willing to cross-train and assist with other shop functions as needed. The work is manual and takes place in a fabrication shop.

Requirements

• Ability to use a paint sprayer in a clean and orderly fashion.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• More than one year of experience in a paint facility.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged, extensive, or considerable periods.
• Manual dexterity and mobility.
• Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch considerably.
• Visual and auditory acuity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare painted surfaces so paint can adhere to the metal.
• Apply paint to customer specifications, using techniques that prevent paint from running or pooling.
• Clean and maintain paint equipment.
• Cross-train and assist with other shop functions as needed.
