About The Position

Crash Champions is hiring a Paint Prepper to prepare vehicle surfaces for paint application and support the paint team in completing repairs on schedule. The role includes cleaning and treating surfaces, assisting with pre-paint blending, filling and smoothing minor imperfections, finishing paintwork, and cleaning and maintaining paint equipment. Compensation is paid on a commission/flag-rate structure, with flag pay guaranteed to meet local minimum-wage requirements for all hours worked each week. The posted compensation range represents average flag pay for a typical full-time employee in this position. The actual offer depends on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, and qualifications.

Requirements

• Prior experience in the vehicle paint process.
• Ability to receive directions and work well with others.
• Must be able to pass a thorough background check.

Nice To Haves

• I-CAR certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remove grease, dirt, paint, and rust from vehicle surfaces using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
• Assist the painter with pre-paint blending needs.
• Work with the paint team to help keep vehicles on track for their scheduled delivery times.
• Fill small dents or scratches with body fillers and smooth surfaces in preparation for painting.
• Buff and wax finished paintwork.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.
