About The Position

As a Sr. Reconditioning Associate II, you will help ensure vehicles meet CarMax paint and cosmetic standards before reaching customers. The role includes advanced paint application, minor repairs, sanding, grinding, and paint preparation. You will also support related reconditioning duties as needed, contributing to a team focused on precision, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Complete CarMax New Associate Orientation Training – Operations.
• Ability to meet performance standards and workstation certifications for all related roles.
• Ability to read, interpret, and accurately record data and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Proficiency in color discernment and paint application techniques.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors or outdoors in varying conditions.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Use CarMax-provided respiratory protection; must be clean-shaven to use a half-face respirator.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete paint applications, including color matching and mixing for a quality finish.
• Execute minor repairs such as sanding and grinding to restore vehicle surfaces.
• Maintain paint preparation standards to ensure vehicles meet CarMax quality guidelines.
• Collaborate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives with the team.
• Follow standardized work processes and comply with CarMax Paint Standards.
• Keep equipment and tools in optimal condition to support safety and efficiency.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

Benefits

• Up to 48 hours of sick time per year, accrued each pay period.
• Between 80 and 200 hours of vacation time per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Eight hours of pay for each of six scheduled paid holidays per year, plus one floating holiday.
