About The Position

This is a 10-week internship engagement from May 2026 to August 2026 in Morristown, NJ. Opella offers a different approach to early careers, where interns are trusted early, supported strongly, and given real space to make an impact. As a Pain Innovation Intern, you will directly contribute to work that aims to make self-care simpler, smarter, and more human for millions of people. The role involves supporting the Pain Innovation Team in developing and evaluating product attributes and clinical benefits for the US OTC portfolio, aligning with category strategy and consumer needs. You will also provide support to an R&D Lead, contributing across multiple categories and functional areas as needed. A key deliverable will be preparing and presenting a final project focused on a relevant topic for Opella’s OTC business by the end of the internship.

Requirements

  • Must be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and/or combination of mechanical engineering and material science at an accredited university with plans to graduate in near future.
  • Must have permanent US work authorization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively on a team.
  • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills – know how to prioritize.
  • Dare to ask questions (Curious. Courageous).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Pain Innovation Team in developing and evaluating product attributes and clinical benefits for the US OTC portfolio, aligned with category strategy and consumer needs.
  • Provide support to an R&D Lead by contributing across multiple categories and functional areas as needed.
  • Prepare and present a final project focused on a key topic relevant to Opella’s OTC business by the end of the internship.
