About The Position

IFF is seeking a highly motivated Scent Technology and Innovation Scientist Intern for a 3-month internship. In this role, the intern will explore new and emerging IFF technologies and contribute to a deeper understanding of product fundamentals. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in fragrance delivery systems, product development, and demonstrates high scientific curiosity. This internship offers hands-on exposure to innovation-driven research within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • Strong academic background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
  • Ability to work in a chemistry lab environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects without direct supervision
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and scientific curiosity
  • Knowledge and adherence to laboratory safety practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • BS or MS degree in progress in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 0+ years of industrial experience in food, pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, consumer goods, and/or fragrance industries
  • Knowledge of raw materials, relevant applications, and chemical processes

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with consumer insights, particularly within home care applications
  • Exposure to fragrance, consumer goods, cosmetic, chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industries
  • Experience with project planning and basic project management tools

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and manage technical work with minimal guidance from senior technical staff
  • Design, conduct, and analyze laboratory experiments to support technology and product understanding
  • Support exploration of new fragrance delivery technologies and evaluate performance outcomes
  • Document experimental results and communicate learnings clearly to the broader technical team
