About The Position

LawnStarter is seeking a Paid Search Marketing Manager to own paid search strategy and execution across its portfolio of brands (LawnStarter, Lawn Love, Home Gnome). This is an individual contributor role focused on managing millions in ad spend daily, working directly in accounts while also thinking strategically about scaling efficiently. The role involves navigating multi-brand complexity, managing various campaign types (RSA, DSA, PMax, AI Search Max, Demand Gen), handling extreme seasonality in demand, and owning the full-funnel customer experience from ad impression to service completion. Success in the first year includes hitting new customer acquisition targets, improving ROAS, reducing wasted spend, and building scalable systems for the channel.

Requirements

  • AI-native: Proficient in using AI tools for ad copy generation, data analysis, script writing, and reporting; experimenting with AI-powered bidding and creative tools.
  • Deeply data-driven: Comfortable working within Google Ads, spreadsheets, and dashboards, with a strong ability to spot patterns and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Systems thinker: Ability to understand campaign interactions, structure accounts for scale, and build robust processes.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity: Capable of making decisions with incomplete data and knowing when to analyze further versus when to test.
  • Strong communicator: Ability to explain technical details and performance insights to non-specialists, write clear reports, flag risks, and advocate for recommendations.
  • Conversion-tracking fluent: Understanding of event tracking, tag management, and attribution models, with the ability to QA implementation and correct data issues.
  • Bias for action: Preference for launching tests and iterating quickly over lengthy planning cycles or debate.
  • Experience managing paid search campaigns on Google Ads and Bing.

Responsibilities

  • Own RSA and DSA strategy for core mowing across Google and Bing, including creative testing, feed coverage, campaign structure, and bidding.
  • Run and optimize PMax, AI Search Max, and Demand Gen campaigns, understanding their role in the funnel and their interaction with other campaign types.
  • Define and manage tCPA, tROAS, and portfolio bid strategies across brands and campaign types, ensuring alignment with goals and funnel stages.
  • Own attribution tracking setup, event tracking implementation, and conversion loop QA to ensure accurate measurement and trustworthy data for smart bidding.
  • Drive landing page testing, QA the full customer experience from click through first service complete, and identify funnel leaks.
  • Manage LawnStarter, Lawn Love, and Home Gnome campaigns with clear positioning and minimal cannibalization.
  • Decide on budget allocation across brands, markets, and campaign types to maximize ROAS.
  • Run structured experiments on bidding strategies, ad copy, landing pages, and audience segments.
  • Build dashboards, surface insights, and translate data into actionable strategies.
