Role: We are seeking a Media Strategy Lead to steward our strategic and paid media efforts as part of eBay Global Growth Marketing team. This position requires deep expertise in paid media, focusing on strategic planning and execution of integrated media plans across both digital and offline channels. Key responsibilities include: strategic media planning, implementation, optimization, and performance analysis. This role will also act as a key connection throughout the Global Growth Marketing Organization supporting the development of campaigns, but also the allocation of resources to new capabilities across channel execution, tracking, performance measurement. The position is part of the US Paid Media Strategy & Planning team and will partner with marketing and business leads, driving high visibility Brand and strategic campaign initiatives. The role offers a strong intersection of customer insights, media analytics and omni-channel campaign planning and execution. You will have the opportunity to translate eBay Global and US marketing goals and strategy into integrated media plans that help drive business results.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years experience developing breakthrough media strategies for global companies in either in-house or agency environments
  • Deep understanding of full funnel advertising channels, from awareness to conversion demand and everything in between.
  • Extensive digital media experience; understanding of roles, capabilities/constraints, and optimization strategies across all channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data, research, cultural and industry insights to ensure breakthrough
  • Experience with in-house media planning tools and syndicated resources
  • Knowledge of consumer and cultural media trends, industry trends and related innovation in media, tracking, analytics and research
  • Excellent communication, ability to drive consensus across the organization.
  • Ability to prepare and present concise, relevant and impactful high-quality content for all levels of the organization from Marketing Managers to senior leadership (ideally up to the C-Suite level)
  • Balance strategic and analytical skills with outstanding operational skills
  • Experience working and growing in fast paced, dynamic environment; Experience working in ecommerce or consumer technology environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the team in development of the media strategy for eBay US, from comprehensive development of full market launches to mentorship and oversight of other campaign activities.
  • Drive brand breakthrough and engagement through innovative media strategies
  • Partner with various global marketing teams and functions to ensure media plans drive brand outcomes, traffic and conversion.
  • Identify and support capability improvements and provide feedback on roadmap
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners as well as creative and media agencies in regional and global marketing.
  • A key focus is to enhance our capabilities in audience strategy, improve data sharing and implement insights/optimizations via testing and measurement.
  • Collaborate with the media agency to facilitate the day-to-day relationship, supporting the end-to-end process to ensure optimal results for eBay.
  • Maintain schedules, and communications to ensure smooth workflow
  • Partner with cross functional teams, agency and media partners to develop compelling custom content partnerships
  • Partner with the Analytics and Consumer Insights team to track and analyze key media metrics, evaluate campaign performance and actively optimize to ensure media plan efficiency and integrity; familiarity with Media Mix Models and/or attribution models with the ability to understand and bring to bear insights.
  • Review all media documents with agency and internal partners including plans, performance reports, project timelines, media authorizations, agreements etc
  • Establish media best practices and stay abreast of key media and digital trends
