About The Position

The Pads Transformer Assembler assembles operations for electricity transformers in accordance with established standard methods and procedures. This role involves performing tasks across various work centers, attaching and installing component parts, operating vacuum systems, and executing repetitive hand assembly operations. The assembler will also use small power hand tools, assist welders, address nonconforming parts, operate overhead cranes, and participate in problem-solving processes to improve efficiency and quality. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, efficient material handling, and good housekeeping practices.

Requirements

  • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations.
  • Ability to work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises.
  • Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined below: Gloves, Welding Gloves, Over the Elbow Sleeves, Safety Glasses, Ear plugs, Steel Toe, Metatarsal Guards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks across various work centers, including tank breakdown, casing, small parts, vacuum chamber, palletizing, final assembly, and testing.
  • Attach and install component parts and sub-assemblies onto transformer tanks (e.g., leads, bushings, brackets, fuses, switches, nameplates, arrestors, labels, stencils, bands).
  • Load, operate, and unload the vacuum system.
  • Place and anchor core/coil assemblies into tanks.
  • Execute repetitive hand assembly, fitting, and adjustment operations.
  • Use small power hand tools as required.
  • Assist welders with the installation of hoods and seals.
  • Address any nonconforming parts or products through rework.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility.
  • Actively participate in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Achieve and maintain target production rates or output levels, ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other manufacturing duties as assigned.
